On Thursday evening, March 3, Sir James Galway, 'the man with the golden flute,' joined writer and broadcaster Nancy Shear for a lively and entertaining hour during which they discussed his life and career, his strong opinions on teaching methods, educational institutions, and other flutists, and his international concert touring.
Sir James answered questions from the audience, and joined the group for a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception. The event, the first of MFAS's 2011 "Conversations Series," took place in the beautiful William Bennett Gallery in SoHo, New York City. The series benefits the programs of Music For All Seasons, particularly the interactive musical programs for children living in shelters for victims of domestic violence.
The series continues May 23 with the Juilliard String Quartet. (location to be announced.)

Music For All Seasons' popular and acclaimed "Conversations" series is an
innovative program that has a devoted and enthusiastic following. Led by
distinguished writer and broadcaster Nancy Shear, the "Conversations"
provide rare insights into the careers and lives of the guests and offer a

For All Seasons, an organization that brings the healing power of live
musical performances to residential institutions.
